Frequently Asked Questions

Douglas wood has a naturally impregnated core, which makes Douglas wood a very durable type of wood. At the same time it has the advantage of growing relatively fast making it a popular type in danish forestry. Douglas wood is typically 80 years old when it is taken down. We use Class 3 Douglas wood after danish standards (DS/EN143), which means that the wood can last for 10 to 15 years in untreated form. The heartwood has a red brown color.

Oak contains tannic acid making this type of wood one of the most durable types growing in Denmark. Oak is typically cut down, when it is between 120 and 150 years old. We use Class 3 oak wood after danish standards, which means that the wood can last at least 25 years in its untreated form. The heartwood has a grey brown color.

The difference between the two types is that oak lasts longer, but is more expensive to acquire. Additionally, our furniture in oak wood has a grey brown color, where as the furniture in Douglas wood is red brown.

Yes, you can. Our outdoor furniture is designed to last through all kinds of weather. We’ve chosen types of wood that perform well outdoors and we’ve also treated the wood with wood oil, so it doesn’t rot, when it exposed to rain. Besides that, the wood oil contains a UV filter that protects the furniture against the rays of the sun.

The more often you maintain the furniture, the longer it will last. We recommend to do maintenance on the furniture twice or thrice a year as a minimum. All types of wood turn grey with time due to the sun’s photochemical breakdown. Some like that outdoor furniture has that grey color, but if you would like to have your furniture look as fresh as possible, it is a good idea to treat them with a wood oil every now and then , as wood oil prevents the furniture from turning grey.

You can see the weight of a piece of furniture under the product specifications on the product page for that particular piece.

Our normal delivery time is 4 to 6 weeks. When it comes to renting, we can usually deliver quicker than 4 to 6 weeks as long as we have the furniture in stock.
